Policy

Policies have been among the most effective tools to battle the tobacco epidemic. The Policy Arm of the Oklahoma Tobacco Research Center at the Stephenson Cancer Center collects, analyzes, develops, and disseminates research findings to identify and implement cost-effective tobacco control policy.

In collaboration with local, state, and national partners, multiple strategies are employed in each of five goal areas; reviewing best practices; monitoring tobacco industry trends; conducting original research; promoting public education; and fostering dialogue.

Robert McCaffree, MD, MSHA serves as the associate director for policy at the Oklahoma Tobacco Research Center.
